Hello!

My name is Coco Dayo, and I just released JARRING, my second  game made in RPG Maker MZ.

It's a horror game I made for a 9-day game jam, the Toasty Jam!

The 9 days I spent devving this was super challenging, as I could only work on it for a few hours after work (6 days) and for 8~ hours during my days off (3 days).

At the end, I surprisingly finished it??? Like, how... LOL!

I'm very proud of myself for completing a game in such a short period. It opened my eyes to what I could achieve if I just simply LOCKED IN and stopped procrastinating. This is why I think Game Jams are so good to do as inexperienced game devs.

If you are reading this and you are a game dev, I encourage you to join more game jams! You get to learn so much and SO FAST about your strengths and weaknesses. It's invaluable!

However, it isn't all good news... the build I uploaded to the game jam is BUGGED! The version you can download from the 'Download Now' button, let's call it version 1.0, lets you skip to the ending from the very beginning of the game!

Since I found out about this bug AFTER the submission period ended, itch won't let you edit/alter the file you attached DURING the voting period, as that would be considered cheating. So as a last hail-mary attempt to have a playable version of JARRING (versions 1.1), I attached a Google Drive link in the JARRING page... It's now up to the game jam host if he will play this fixed version or not. And I wouldn't blame him if he doesn't, as it is completely my own fault!

And this all comes back to the benefits of joining a game jam. You get to learn so much from your mistakes, and you learn them fast!

I'm praying he plays the 1.1 version, which is actually only 16 minutes late after the submission period ended.

Anyways, that's all from me for now. I will post another update once he plays the game live on his stream, and when the winners have been announced. Maybe I'll update the game to polish it further?
